Brendan Kearney
Director of Operations

An industry lifer, Brendan took his first General Manager position at Ohio University when he was 20 years old at Broneys Alumni Grille. After completing his studies, Brendan returned home to Cleveland and took a position with the Cleveland Restaurant Group, serving as General Manager and later, Operations Manager for the six unit restaurant group. It was here where Brendan and Fabio met and eventually found themselves partners in Reddstone located in Cleveland’s Battery Park neighborhood. In May 2013, Brendan officially joined the Salerno Group team as General Manager of the newly relocated Lago in the Flats East project. Brendan soon took on the GM position at Lago Custom Events as well. Brendan currently serves as Director of Operations of Salerno Group and oversees the team’s initiatives both in Cleveland and at our newest location, Banditos Cantina in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Andrew Czarzasty
Chief Operating Operator / Chief Financial Officer

Andrew moved to Cleveland in 2007 after receiving a BA from Ohio Northern University. He earned his Juris Doctorate at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, graduating and passing the bar in 2010. After working in the private sector, Andrew joined The Salerno Group in 2014. He currently leads operations, finances and expansion for The Salerno Group’s current concepts in Ohio and South Carolina. He and his wife Aubrey were married in 2017 and currently live in Cleveland.

Mario Santo Domingo
Executive Chef

Mario received his degree in culinary arts through the Le Cordon Bleu at The California Culinary Academy in San Francisco. Mario went on to work in different kitchens throughout the country including San Francisco, Maui and New York. During Mario’s career in New York he was able to cook at the prestigious James Beard House. After New York, Mario’s career went on to open restaurants in Ohio and Florida. Mario returned to his hometown of Cleveland and earned the title of Corporate Chef for Salerno Restaurant group.

Aubrey Czarzasty
Sales Manager

Aubrey started with Lago when we first opened in the East Bank of the Flats in 2013. Since then she has held the role of bartender, restaurant manager and now heads up our sales team for the company. Aubrey has a strong passion for making Lago the best it can be for its employees and guests. She is the person that is here to assist all guests in anything from making a reservation in the restaurant all the way to executing a large-scale wedding or event. When she isn't working she loves spending time with her husband Andrew and their dog Ace.

Tim is dedicated to creating a great guest experience. Working throughout his career to provide service,
unique and exceptional product and most importantly, culture that supports our team in providing the
guest environment that represents our passion for excellence.

Nicole Salerno
Owner

Nicole and her husband, Fabio, have run and owned restaurants and businesses in Cleveland for 16 years. She earned her degree in Communications and Mediation from Cleveland State University. She has 4 children; Dominic, Sofia, Gianni and Luca. Nicole’s primary work focus is running the Salerno’s full-service event & catering company, Lago Custom Events located in the EY Tower in the the East Bank of the Flats. Her passion project is a healthy school lunch initiative she launched in 2015 serving made from scratch school lunches prepared by an executive chef using the best ingredients available. In her leisure time, she enjoys traveling as much as possible, jogging through the city with her children and their dog Gibson, learning the guitar and reading books to improve her business.

Fabio Salerno
Chef / Owner

Chef Fabio Salerno’s culinary experience began at an exceptionally early age. Salerno was born and raised on Cleveland’s east side and worked alongside his parents in the restaurant industry, which allowed his passion for cooking to transpire organically. In 2013, Chef Salerno and wife, Nicole, moved Lago from the popular dining neighborhood of Tremont, where Lago called "home" for its first 7 years, to the new Flats East Bank entertainment district. Lago became the anchor restaurant for phase one of the Flats East Bank development; the very district that Fabio began his career in 18 years earlier.

By moving to the Flats, Lago also cemented itself as the exclusive caterer to the aLoft Hotel and its property, paving the way for the Salerno’s entertainment company, Lago Custom Events. Lago Custom Events is a full service catering and event company specializing in on and off-premise catering and event production.  With Chef Salerno's vision, LCE prides itself on restaurant quality food, a top notch beverage program and a full-service event design team with specialties ranging from weddings to corporate events and all social gatherings in between. Lago Custom Events takes the utmost pride in designing memorable experiences that exceed expectations.

While opening Lago in 2013, Fabio simultaneously opened TownHall a West 25th Street mainstay, just down the block from the West Side Market in Ohio City, TownHall has transformed into a 100% non-GMO, mostly organic concept filled with activity.  Chef Salerno says it’s not an attempt to follow a trend. “I’m driven to figure out our food supply and where it comes from, and these specialty-diet recipes are the first step of me serving what I’d want my family to eat.”  In addition you’ll find house made cold pressed juice, toxin free coffee and a specialized craft beverage program.  Construction of Chef Salerno’s second TownHall is underway in Columbus, scheduled to open in fall 2019 at the base of the new Moxy Hotel by Marriott.  In addition, Salerno and team will be opening an Asian concept in the location's rooftop space.

In 2016 Chef Salerno became a chef partner with Aramark creating a variety of items and concepts for the Cleveland Browns Stadium, Quicken Loans Arena as well as The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.  Fabio was awarded a Cleveland Cavalier’s championship ring by the Cavs Organization for his work at #Launch Test Kitchen in the Quicken Loans Arena during the 2016 season.  During his time as a chef partner with Aramark, Lago Concessions has opened three featured concepts at Quicken Loans Arena, as well as a featured concept at the Rock Hall.

Continuing to expand, Chef Salerno most recently opened a Mexican cantina and tequileria in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  Banditos continues Fabio’s mission to having a positive impact on his community with a focus on sourcing local and organic product and engaging in charitable work in the Myrtle Beach community.  From feeding displaced families after Hurricane Florence, to offering free taco dinners to families affected by the 2019 government shutdown, Banditos is following the Salerno Group’s road map.

When Fabio is not in the kitchen at one of his restaurants, he enjoys traveling with his wife Nicole, and is usually chasing down one of his four children, Dominic, Sofia, Gianni, and Luca!
